This rose, of the 'New Dawn' variety, showers us with roses from Midsummer's light nights and long into the darkest winter, until the frost finally sets in. Still I compare this rose to her less well known cousin, 'Coral Dawn', bought on sale one of our first summers in the house, much less robust. The flowers are the same pink as marzipan roses on a cake and too heavy for the stalks to carry so that the large flowers hang limp from the weak stalks. However, the rose scent is equally heavy and lingers throughout the garden. Of all my roses, THAT is my favorite.
My favourite tray with New Dawn roses.
